The Parson's Table is a ministry of the First United Methodist, High Point's United Methodist Women.  We hold Parson's Table twice a year, coinciding with the International Furniture Market.  During the spring and fall markets, over 100 volunteers prepare and serve homemade sandwiches, salads, soups and desserts to hungry market goers in the downtown area of High Point.

Parson's Table began 1978 when showrooms were first starting to open on Wrenn Street.  Some exhibitors soon realized there were no nearby food services for their clients.  A few of the showroom owners approached ladies of First United Methodist Church and told them they would guarantee to buy at least 50 meals if the ladies would provide them.  Thus began a thriving venture for the UMW in their quest to support numerous worthy charitable projects.

Today the Parson's Table serves from 350-475 meals a day during the six days it is open.  All proceeds from the endeavor go to organizations such as Child Enrichment, the Open Door Shelter, Appalachia Service Project, ARC of High Point and Community Care.  Come join us for lunch between the hours of 11:30-2:00 p.m., during spring or fall market.  Enjoy delicious food while helping us to support so many in the community around us.
