Ash Wednesday Services

Ash Wednesday begins the Lenten season, and First offers two opportunities to worship. Both services are held in the Sanctuary and offer the imposition of ashes.

11:00 a.m. Children’s Service

This service is designed to put the season of Lent on the level of a child, helping us all to remember that Lent is the time that God put his rescue plan in effect - when we see Jesus our rescuer take the place as the one and only King and Savior of the world! During this 30-minute service in the, we will sing, pray, have story time, and our Pastors will conduct the Imposition of Ashes for all who would like to receive them. Parents and adults are welcome!

7:00 p.m. Traditional Service

This service follows a more traditional Ash Wednesday service. It is held in the Sanctuary and offers the imposition of ashes through which we come before God recognizing our humanity, repenting our sin, and remembering that both have been triumphed over through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
