True discipleship requires growth in faith.

Here at First, we have many avenues designed for encountering the living Christ - through the study of Scripture and engaging in Sunday School classes.

  • This group of primarily older adults meets at 10:00 a.m. They use a quarterly curriculum in a traditional Sunday School format, utilizing a rotating variety of teachers from within the class, as well as guest teachers outside the class roles.

  • The Gathering Class meets in the Holy Family Chapel in the Education building and consists of individuals in their 40s through 60s, however, all are welcome!

  • Pathfinders began in the 1950’s with a group from High Point College. The group consists of mostly 65+ individuals who gather in the original chapel behind the Sanctuary each Sunday morning. Teachers from the church and the community lead from the International Lessons, Methodist Quarterlies, or and other Biblical sources. Each November the class hosts a Pecan sale and use the profits to help church and local missions.

  • 9:45 a.m. on Sundays; second classroom on your right in the Sanctuary building, when entering from the driveway.

The Wesley Class began in September 1969. The class is located in the in the Sanctuary building on Level 2. Each Sunday, teachers lead the class through God’s Word using a variety of resources as exampled by The International Lessons, books and/or articles and teacher researched materials.

The Wesley Class is a caring, church/community oriented class. Class members reach out in Christian fellowship individually and as a class. In the Wesley Class it has been said our ages range from 50 until heaven calls. All are welcomed to join!
