Everyone deserves to eat.

Located on the Wrenn Street side of the First campus, the food pantry supplies community members in need each Thursday with groceries including fresh fruit and vegetables, canned foods, baked goods, and meat, with special surprise treats on holidays for children. Operating entirely on volunteer energy, monthly task teams help sort cans, package produce, log in visitors, and carry food boxes to cars. It is our mission to share the abundance God has given us with those in need in our community. Food is distributed with love, compassion, and respect for those who come for assistance. We strive to provide this service with kindness and grace that meets both physical and spiritual needs. This is our response to God's overwhelming love for us!

Get involved.

Your help is vital to the ministry and greatly appreciated! Volunteers are needed from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., one or two Thursday mornings a month, as well as about 2 hours on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon to help sort Simple Gesture donations every other month.  If you have an interest in helping, please email Pat Bowling (pnbowling@aol.com).

Meals for Seniors

Do you have an elderly parent, neighbor, or relative who could use some assistance with weekly meals? The Providence culinary training program, part of Second Harvest Food Bank, has received federal funding to help provide healthy meals for seniors. This is not a financial need-based program and is open to anyone over 60 years of age who is NOT receiving Meals on Wheels. Participants will need to fill out an application and pick up the box of 5 prepared meals once a week from the Shared Blessing Food Pantry. Participants may designate a driver to collect the box for them. Email Pat for an application.
